Online Therapy in English and French

Online Therapy in English and French

I offer online therapy sessions by secure video link, in English and in French, for adults and adolescents from the age of 16. I work with clients across the UK, Europe and Asia, with sessions scheduled around your time zone.

Who online therapy suits

Online sessions remove the constraint of geography. They are often the right choice if you:

  • Live outside the Brighton and Hove area, or elsewhere in the UK
  • Are a French speaker living abroad and would rather work in your first language
  • Travel frequently for work, or have recently relocated
  • Find travelling to appointments difficult because of health, caring responsibilities or a demanding schedule
  • Want to continue therapy through a move, a long trip or a period abroad
  • Are looking for a practitioner trained in a specific approach that is not available locally

If you would prefer to meet in person, I also see clients at a practice in Hove — see therapy in Brighton and Hove.

How I work online

I adapt all my therapeutic tools to the online format rather than simply talking over video. Shared whiteboards and screen-based exercises make it possible to do the practical work of CBT and ACT as effectively as in the room.

The same standards of ethics, confidentiality and quality of care apply as for in-person sessions. With your consent, I can also coordinate with other professionals involved in your care — your GP, psychiatrist or dietitian.

Online work is not the right format for everything. For some severe or complex difficulties, in-person support allows for a more thorough assessment, and I will say so if I think that is the case. I have written a candid account of the benefits and limits of online therapy.

What I can help with

Anxiety and panic, depression and low mood, burnout, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, perfectionism, sleep difficulties, identity questions, and the particular strains of living between countries — isolation, cultural adjustment, supporting ageing parents from a distance, and helping children settle into a new school system. My article on life abroad goes into this in more depth.

Background

I am a chartered psychologist (BPS, CPsychol 716681), trained as a clinical psychologist in France with a Master’s degree from the Université Paris Cité, three years of specialised CBT training at the AFTCC, and further training in ACT with Steven C. Hayes and Russ Harris. I have more than twelve years of clinical experience across France, Singapore and the UK, and I have lived in the United States, Canada and Singapore myself.

Fees

Online sessions are £90 for 50 minutes (100 € for clients billed in euros). All you need is a stable internet connection and a quiet, private space.

If you are based in Singapore, I continue a collaboration with The Other Clinic, with slots from 4pm to 9pm SGT.
