CBT Supervision for Therapists and Trainees
I am a certified CBT supervisor — Thérapeute Praticien Superviseur (TPS), a qualification recognised by the AFTCC (French Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy) — and I offer clinical supervision in CBT for practising therapists and trainees.
Who this is for
- Trainees and therapists in training at the AFTCC who need documented supervision hours for their programme
- Qualified psychologists and therapists looking for a regular, reflective space
- Practitioners working toward AFTCC certification
- Therapists wanting to consolidate their technical CBT skills, or to integrate ACT into their practice
- French-speaking practitioners working abroad who are cut off from a francophone supervision network
Supervision takes place online, which makes it workable wherever you practise. Sessions can be conducted in English or French.
What we can work on
- Case formulation and cognitive-behavioural conceptualisation
- Selecting and applying CBT techniques appropriate to the presentation
- Complex clinical situations and therapeutic impasses
- Ethical dilemmas and questions of boundaries and frame
- The therapeutic alliance and relational difficulties in the room
- Integrating ACT, mindfulness, or skills drawn from DBT
- Developing your professional identity and clinical confidence
- Preventing burnout and managing the emotional load of the work
How I approach supervision
For me, supervision is far more than a regulatory requirement. It is a protected space — time deliberately set aside to think about your practice, ask your questions, and notice your own development over time.
I have been in continuous monthly supervision since qualifying, with professionals trained in CBT and ACT. I still take part in it because that is where I slow down, think carefully about my work, and get support on complex cases. It has helped me sharpen my clinical reasoning, strengthen my technique, navigate ethical and relational challenges, and stay grounded when the work feels heavy. The supervisors who trained me shaped both how I work with clients and how I now support other therapists.
Feedback is offered with care, respect, and attention to your stage of development. You are a developing professional, not a set of techniques to be corrected.
My longer article on CBT supervision sets this out in more detail.
